About Zach McBournie - The Heart Behind ZEM Construction
Hello and welcome! I'm Zach McBournie, the proud founder of ZEM Construction. My journey began with a childhood surrounded by the hum of heavy machinery and the transformative power of construction, thanks to my dad's passion as a heavy equipment salesman. My fondest memories are dotted with the excitement of job sites and the awe of renovation projects.
Though my academic path led me to engineering at Washington State University, the allure of construction called me back. My real-world education continued under the mentorship of my high school woodshop teacher, where the basics of remodeling took on a deeper meaning during those vibrant summer days.
Family is my cornerstone — my wife Sadie and our three children, Branson, Maverick, and Baylor, are my everything. They inspire me to build and create spaces that families cherish and thrive in.
ZEM Construction came to life in November 2018, sprouted from my own hands-on experience remodeling my home and the growing requests from friends and family. It was clear that my passion had a purpose, and with a license in hand, I committed to turning houses into beloved homes.
Over the past five years, I've not only honed my craft but also cultivated a company ethos that centers on client-care. To us, every project is a partnership, and we're dedicated to enhancing your home with an unwavering commitment to excellence.

We love the new layout. We had like 20 people over and it flowed super well. What a relief! Used to be so clogged up in certain parts of the house and it was uncomfortable. Doesn’t feel that way any more! Looking forward to more holiday celebrations!

When I say they knocked it out of the park, it truly is an understatement! Zach and Cody were beyond gracious, helpful and informative when it came to all the nagging questions i had each day.
